Where do you live, what do you do?

I live in Los Angeles and I’m the Creative Director at Playboy Magazine.

Where are you from originally and why is it awesome?

I’m from the UK so the climate will never be boring for me. The food is underrated, there are pretty views and always subtle chaos. Love the fact you can get out of the city and be hanging with bears within a few hours. Although I’ve never actually hung out with bears -- I’m not even sure I’m allowed to hang out with bears.

What makes you happy?

Listening to music, watching movies, leaving town, coming back to town, playing football with my friends (soccer to you), drinking and talking nonsense with my friends, cliched road trips; you know, the usual.

What do you care about and why?

The little things I care about change daily, but the big three are friends, family and work. I try and protect these things passionately.

If you could change one thing about your industry what would it be and why?

I wish people would buy more print magazines and realize again the value of reading and owning something tangible. Also because I really don’t want to be a web designer.

Who do you think is changing the game?

Trendy, independent magazines; but they’re a blessing and a curse. On the one hand some are just vanity projects and lack editorial depth. On the other hand they can look beautiful and seem to be having a positive effect on brands realizing that having a magazine to support them is a good idea. Which is a win for print.

What would you rather be doing right now?

At home watching the last Harry Potter -- I’d never seen them before. Or a massage would be nice; my back is aching a bit.

What’s one small thing we can do to help others?

Find a charity that is personal to you and donate an amount every month. No excuse not to.

Who would you like to join our Happy Hour?

Kevin Morby, Angel Olsen, Vince Staples, Neil Krug, Mitski, Josh Tillman, Carrie Brownstein.

What do you want to do next?

I ask myself this regularly.
